The AUDE toolkit for a sustainable estate & SMG Benchmarking tool
These are the 2010 update versions added in July 2010.
The AUDE toolkit for a sustainable estate consists of tools and guidance, available on this website via a link from the AUDE website.
The new toolkit contents are:
- A Model of Estate Costs (MEC) and user guide. Predicted annualised costs
are expressed financially and in terms of notional carbon emissions.
- A series of examples of Space Assessment Models (SAMs) and guidance
on how to use them, together with advice on how to develop an institutional space profile.
A password is required to open the models.
Due to the fact they contain EMS data, the old Model and new MEC are only available to UK Higher Education Directors of Estates (or equivalent). Please e-mail Bernard Dromgoole (HEFCE) (b.dromgoole@hefce.ac.uk) or Suzanne Irwin (AUDE) (sirwin@essex.ac.uk) to apply for your password.
Previously part of the toolkit, the Benchmarking tool now sits exclusively on the SMG website with its user guide below. The Benchmarking tool which uses the same password as MEC is a spreadsheet-based which allows users to compare the size of their actual non-residential estate with predictions of its space use which are based on assumptions set within the tool.
